The Lord of the Rings
Young people who are into the Lord of the Rings generation might find it surprising that this book is classified as Christian fiction. The fact is that the author, J.R.R. Tolkien, was actually a key figure in influencing C.S. Lewis as a Christian.
Tolkien was actually a devoted believer and spent a majority of his time writing his books. One of these books of course, came to be Lord of the Rings. The story centers on the character of Frodo Baggins who receives a ring from his uncle Bilbo Baggins. This same ring is powerful enough to be able to control the world and its bearer.
A great council has come to an agreement that the ring has to be destroyed, but the only way for that to happen would be if the ring thrown in the same fire that it was from, which is located at the plains of Mordor. Even though Frodo is determined that he will not use the ring, he is weak and he fights off the urge to use the ring as it slowly affects his personality.
This story has allegories about Jesus’ and it also includes lessons about how goodness can never come from evil things.
